A new Express Entry draw held May 29 invited 3,350 candidates to apply for Canadian permanent residence. The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score was 470.
the draw held on 29th May 2019, was the first all-programs Express Entry invitation round since 1st May 2019 and marked a return to a larger number of invitations.
All-programs draws involve candidates from the three economic-class immigration categories managed by the Express Entry system — the Federal Skilled Worker Class, Federal Skilled Trades Class and Canadian Experience Class.
The previous Express Entry draw held May 15 was limited to candidates in the Federal Skilled Trades Class and only saw 500 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) issued.
All-programs draws are the norm under the Express Entry system and are generally held every two weeks.
currently the total number of ITAs issued so far this year is 35,100.
The admissions target for 2019 is 81,400 new permanent residents, which is an increase of 6,500 admissions over 2018’s target of 74,900.
Express Entry candidates can increase their score in many ways, with the PNP (Provincial Nomination Program) being the most valuable in terms of points. Candidates who obtain PNP for PR receive an additional 600 points towards their CRS score.
In recent weeks, Express Entry candidates have received invitations to apply for a PNP through Express Entry-aligned immigration streams in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario.
