USA Student Visas

Student Visas

The F-1 Visa (Academic Student) allows one to enter the U.S. as a full-time student at an accredited (U.S. Government approved) college or university. The student must be enrolled in a program or course of study which culminates in a degree, diploma, or certificate. The M-1 Visa (Vocational Student) is issued to students who want to pursue non-academic programs (health care technician, machinist, dental hygienist etc.) in an established institution. The J-1 Visa (Exchange Student) is for students pursuing graduate / post-graduate studies, visiting scholars, medical doctors undergoing training etc.

The Visa Centre’s experienced student department staff identifies the best suited programs in response to the personal needs and interests of students applying to study abroad, and if special English language assistance is needed, usually recommends an institution which provides an English proficiency program as well. The Visa Centre works with the educational institutions that students are applying for in order to ensure that all necessary paper work is completed correctly and in a timely manner. This enables a student visa to be issued by the relevant Immigration Services. We also ensure that suitable accommodation arrangements are made for the student during their stay.

USA- Student Life

America is home to a huge population of immigrants, whether recently settled or having lived in the country for generations. Therefore you will find that all ethnicities and nationalities are represented, although not to the same extent in every city. Multiple ethnic and student unions will connect you with students in a similar position as yourself so, even if you are on the other side of the world, you are not too far from a group of caring and compatible people. Student life in America affords you the opportunity to better yourself not only intellectually but in every way in which you are ready to progress. In the US, you can encounter and experience almost any climate, landscape, lifestyle, and culture imaginable. By selecting the right setting, you will be able to find a living experience that is perfect for you.

Academics

America has one of the world’s best college systems, with outstanding programs in nearly all fields. The higher education system in the United States has something for everyone. Some U.S. colleges and universities stress educational principles: others focus on practical, employment-related skills; and still others specialize in technical fields, the arts, or social sciences. As a result, if you are looking for an institution where you can study a particular field – no matter how unusual or specific – you will be able to find several from which to choose in the United States. Although many programs are highly structured, you will generally find a full array of course choices best suited to your needs.

U.S. universities pride themselves on being at the forefront of technology and educational techniques. International students are some of the most valued researchers and teachers in U.S. universities because they bring new skill sets and ideas to the classroom and laboratory. Many graduate programs in the United States offer training that enables students to become teaching or research assistants. At most institutions, services from the international student office help students from abroad adapt in order to maximize their learning experience in their new environment. U.S. universities provide a rich variety of academic, cultural and athletic activities that add much more than a degree or diploma to a student’s intellectual repertoire.

Tuition Fees

The cost of study per year (Tuition and fees, does not includes living expenses) in USA varies from $5000 to $50,000. As an international student you can expect to pay somewhere between $10,000 and $20,000US per year. However, for larger, private, four year colleges international students must be prepared for anywhere between $18,000 and $35,000US per year. These higher-priced colleges sometimes have more comprehensive financial aid and grant opportunities available — which may mean that you can get more financial help to attend that institution. Make sure to check your school’s website for information regarding grants, scholarships and other financial assistance they might be able to provide you with.
